ODBC Data Import

DiscoveryPro This data connector is only available in Visplore Discovery and Visplore Professional.

To import data from a database via ODBC ("Open Database Connectivity"), choose one of the corresponding options when starting a data import:

Database (via ODBC)

If you select this data source, all locally configured ODBC drivers are available via a drop-down menu. The following databases have been tested and are supported: PostgreSQL, MySQL, MS SQL.
After selecting a data source, you can load a data table (after entering a user name and password, if required) via this interface. The "Custom" option poses an alternative, where an access string can be specified manually.

Access Mask (ODBC) - available in some Visplore versions

If selecting this option, you can choose between pre-configured ODBC access masks, which consist of a fixed set of options for a defined ODBC data source. These are predfined by your vendor upon agreement.
