A) Usage data collection by Visplore Free
In accordance with the End-User-License-Agreement (EULA) accepted by you when installing Visplore Free, we inform you that Visplore collects usage statistics and sends them to our servers upon startup, unless opted out (see below). These statistics help us to understand, on an aggregated level, which features are used, how long the software is used on average, etc. The data is evaluated in aggregated form and for the sole purpose to optimize our products and services. The data is only used internally, and not sold to any third parties. Moreover, the collected data does not contain any personal data in terms of GDPR, nor is it linked to any personal data. Thus, statements made for personal data in the privacy policy above do not apply to the usage statistics in Appendix A.

Opting out does not restrict your use of Visplore products in any way.
B) Anonymous collection of documentation usage:
When accessing the online documentation from within any version of Visplore, our server hosting the documentation may collect and store which particular link or help button was clicked in Visplore to access the documentation. This includes information about the current usage context (e.g. which cockpit, visualization is currently shown, etc.). Note that this information is collected anonymously, without any kind of user identification. The purpose of collection is improving the user experience in future versions.
C) Data storage for the LicenseSpring licensing system:
Versions of Visplore Discovery and Professional that use the cloud-based LicenseSpring system (https://licensespring.com/) perform regular online checks for license verification. LicenseSpring servers are contacted on a regular basis for this purpose. The following information is transmitted to LicenseSpring’s servers and stored there: external IP address, operating system version, information about the virtual machine (if any), VISPLORE version, activation time, occupancy time, and a unique installation ID (= an anonymous random sequence). This is necessary for providing the service and ensuring compliance with the VISPLORE license terms.. Cense Data Inc., the provider of the LicenseSpring service, a company incorporated under the laws of Canada, with registered office at 1810-928 Homer street, V6B 1T7 Vancouver (Canada), business registration no. 81673 9726, acts as a data processor for this data on behalf of VISPLORE, with a data processing agreement (DPA) in place between Cense Data Inc. and VISPLORE (see https://licensespring.com/data-processing).
Note that VISPLORE versions based on the Codemeter licensing system by WiBu Systems (https://www.wibu.com) do not perform online checks.
